Things You Should Know about Waterproof Ratings --- IP Code

The IP Code (or International Protection Rating, also known as Ingress Protection Rating*) is made up of the letters IP, two figures, and an optional letter.

The first figure depicts the enclosure's level of protection against access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of solid foreign objects.

The second figure indicate protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against harmful ingress of water.

So IP54 means that it is protected against water splashing from any angle and against water jets projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) from any angle.

As a result, riding a scooter in the rain is not advised, as it may result in water damage. Our warranty policy states that a battery with water damage is not covered because it was caused by the user.
